Breaking the Blueprint

Anna Brooks is living her dream life as an Architect in New York City—well, minus the glamor of nights out on the town, the rent discount of a stable relationship, or the selling point of a single hobby outside of work. With the weight of her dad’s fame in the industry heavy on her shoulders, she’s spent the past decade obsessing over floor plans of concert venues instead of dancing in them. But when her infuriating(ly hot) coworker stumbles on her wasting yet another late night at the office, Anna vows to find balance.

The antithesis of everything Anna strives to be—controlled, professional, regimented—Miles is a wildcard designer with a unique charm enchanting to everyone but her. But when their deadline-riddled jobs leave them both desperate for a break, an unlikely partnership forms. The pair devise a plan to exploit a company policy loophole to work remotely, landing them across the country in Colorado for a much needed breather. Despite the change of scenery, Anna slips back into her workaholic ways, inspiring Miles to challenge her to a friendly wager. If she can leave her perfectly curated comfort zone, the promotion they’re vying for is hers.

One by one, Anna accepts her rival’s challenges—late night parties, early morning ski runs, and tearing down her carefully constructed walls at all hours in between. With the fate of her career resting in hands she unexpectedly aches to hold, the blueprint lines start to blur. As the end date to their unauthorized vacation fast approaches, Anna is confronted with a terrifying realization: the price of building might just be falling.
